Unisex Zero Waste collection with Niimaar

The Unisex Zero Waste collection with Niimaar showcases a sustainable fashion line I designed using fabric made from discarded consumer textiles. This project, a collaboration with Lounais-Suomen Jätehuolto Oy (LSJH), embodies our shared vision of a future where style, comfort, and environmental responsibility coexist. Each outfit in the collection is a testament to the potential of waste as a valuable resource, waiting for its next life.

Unisex Zero Waste, 2021-23

As an industrial designer, I am always seeking opportunities to merge aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability. The Niimaar Project, featuring the Unisex Zero Waste collection, is a testament to this pursuit.

I am incredibly grateful and humbled to share this project with you all. Winning the Young Finnish Design, New materials, New designs competition Vol. 1 was an enormous honor. Seeing my designs being worn by the fantastic team at Niimaar Circular Design at the prestigious #wcef2023 event is a moment of immense pride and humility.

The Unisex Zero Waste collection is a collaboration with Lounais-Suomen Jätehuolto Oy (LSJH), a company dedicated to managing waste in an environmentally responsible way. The fabric used in this collection is made from discarded consumer textiles, turning waste into a valuable resource.

Working with LSJH‘s material has been an extraordinary experience. It has allowed me to explore the potential of waste as a resource and to challenge the traditional notions of what materials can be used in fashion design.

The Unisex Zero Waste clothes encapsulate our shared vision of a sustainable future where style and comfort don’t need to compromise our environment. I’m immensely proud that each outfit is made from discarded material and that the clothes are made with the highest zero waste standards. This project is a testament to the reality that waste doesn’t exist – it’s simply material waiting for its next life.

I would like to extend my gratitude to the entire team at LSJH for their dedication and commitment. Their work in managing waste responsibly makes projects like these possible.

I am excited about the future of sustainable design and look forward to sharing more projects with you. Stay tuned!
